The Oregon Barbecue Company is teaming up with the NW Art & Air Festival and donating 300 Dinners to kick off this years opening night celebrations. OBC has agreed to enhance Friday evenings "Night Glow" by catering the reception area with its Award Winning BBQ free of charge. "We are very ecstatic to be teaming up with the Albany Parks & Recreation for this event," said Pendley, the VP of the local BBQ Company. "We really enjoy helping out, especially when it comes to big community events like this... our mission is to bring people together through BBQ and this festival certainly accomplishes that. Watching our incredible community come together and celebrate what makes our city so unique really is an incredible feeling that we love being a part of." The Oregon BBQ Company has also agreed to donate its time and manpower by having the OBC Family assist the Balloon Pilots in launching their balloons off of the ground in the early morning.
The NW Art & Air Festival was conceived in August of 2000 and has averaged an attendance of around 40,000 patrons over the last few years. The Events Association has named this event "Best in its Budget Class" twice during the lifespan of the annual event. This fun, family friendly event includes over 70 local Oregon Artists showcasing their talents in Art, Poetry, Ceramics, Wood Working, Jewelry, and much more. Music also takes center stage at the festival as there are many notable acts that have appeared over the years. This years acts include an Aerosmith Rocks Tribute Band on Friday, Goo Goo Dolls on Saturday, and Tyler Stenson on Sunday Night.
The event also spotlights the Albany Municipal Airport and many local and traveling Hot Air Balloon Pilots coming across the nation to launch their balloons during the festivals 3 day schedule. The Signature Production of the festival is said to be the "Night Glow" taking place Friday Night at dusk. If you havent yet experienced this amazing spectacle it is highly recommended that you make time to soak in the astounding sight of all the beautiful balloons glowing against the open Oregon Nightscape.
The Oregon Barbecue Company Family hopes to see you and your loved ones at this years festival... and as always.... "Come and Get 'Ya Some!"
